How to Make Your Own Delicious Ravioli

Ravioli, the delicious Italian pastry, can be a filling experience on its own or a delicious way to start a meal. Ravioli literally means “little ravioli”. It is also called the “pastry” in Italy and refers to the Italian word for it, “rassoni”. Ravioli is a very simple delicious pastry that you can make from just about any type of prepared cheese. When combined with the filling and cream, this tasty pastry is a perfect treat to enjoy during the cold winter months.

In this quick and easy ravioli recipe you will need; softened butter, eggs, milk, cream, and gruyere cheese. In a large bowl, cream the butter and milk together until smooth. Then add the eggs one at a time, and then the cream. Finally, add the cheese and mix thoroughly.

Once the entire ingredients are blended well, spoon the filling into individual cupcake or cake pans. Bake the filled raviolis in the oven or on the stove top for about an hour or until the filling is set. You may need to turn the oven off before turning the oven off. Once the filling is baked, allow it to cool completely. Carefully remove the cakes from their baking pans and allow them to cool on the cooling racks.

Now it’s time to cut the ravioli into clean, even strips. When you slice it, you’ll notice that the filling has been compressed in a somewhat hard shell. You can easily remove the cheese from this tough shell by slicing the strips in half.

Now you can begin assembling your ravioli. Fill one or two cups with the cooled, wet filling. Place the second cup filled with the dry pasta on top and continue this process until you have two cups of ravioli. At this point, if you wish to make a larger batch of ravioli, all you have to do is add more pasta to each pan, or add the filled ravioli to a pan in one step. Keep in mind that the filling will be more liquid at this time, so add enough water to make it easier to mix.

Once this step is done, place the hot, fresh ravioli on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for approximately ten minutes. You might want to use a thermometer to ensure that the oven is at the correct temperature. Once done, remove from the oven and let cool on the cooling rack. If baking is done and the ravioli is already chilled, carefully slice the baking sheets to serve.
